What is the Oxford Business & Finance Summer School at OSP?

The Oxford Artificial Intelligence & Computer Science Summer School at OSP is a two-week immersive course designed for high school students aged 14–18 interested in coding, computer science, and AI. Scholars learn Python, algorithms, and data structures, then build real machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing models through hands-on projects.

Yes. The pre-university AI and computer science course at OSP gives high school students the chance to learn programming and build real AI models in a university setting. The summer school offers an introduction to the subject, practical coding experience, and a real understanding of how modern AI works.

No prior coding experience is required. The course starts with the fundamentals of Python and builds up step by step, so complete beginners and students with some experience can both take part and progress. The curriculum equips all Scholars with the tools they need to build a working AI model by the end.

Scholars work in small teams to build a real AI model. They choose a problem and a dataset, prepare the data, train and evaluate the model, and present their results — mirroring how AI is actually developed, from research question through to real-world application.

It is open to students aged 14–18 who are curious about technology, coding, and artificial intelligence. Whether you are considering computer science, AI, data science, engineering, or a related field, this programme provides a comprehensive introduction to programming and AI.

The course strengthens applications by demonstrating genuine commitment to studying computer science or AI. It provides practical experience in programming, model-building, and AI ethics, showcasing intellectual curiosity and readiness for university-level study. Scholars also receive letters of recommendation from Oxford tutors, adding academic credibility to their applications.

The course builds skills in programming, problem-solving, data analysis, and AI development — among the most in-demand skills across technology, research, and business. By building and presenting a real AI model, Scholars gain practical experience that supports a wide range of future career paths.

To apply, visit the application page and complete the online application form. Submit all required documents, including academic transcripts and a personal statement. After reviewing applications, successful candidates will be notified with further details about their acceptance.

The total cost includes tuition, accommodation, meals, and all excursions and activities. Scholarships and financial aid options are available to support students from diverse financial backgrounds. Please check our fee page for detailed pricing information and funding options.
